E4U Argyle Koala Vest

New, from E.D. Chainworks for Fall 2008!

"Sir" Euclid W. Koala sits here nice and comfy in his brand new European 4-in-1 Unbalanced argyle vest. Made with the finest 20g copper, brass, and galvanized steel wire available from the local hardware store, wrapped around a size 33 rod, and cut via score and break.

This is the first article of maille "clothing" I've completed. 20g (.032"(AWG)/.036"(SWG), .813mm(AWG)/.914mm(SWG)) wire in brass, copper, and galvanized steel. Size #33 (.112", 2.845mm) mandrel, score and break cuts. 4052 rings total. And I still have quite a few leftover rings.

All the wire was packaged and labeled as 20g, but the 20g copper measures closer to 19AWG (.036", .912mm) compared to brass measured at .032" (20AWG, .813mm) and galvanized steel measured at .032" (21SWG, .813mm).

As of this date (Thursday, September 11, 2008) this ranks as the largest ring count piece I have completed.
