I've come to the conclusion recently that, at the moment, I'm more of an R&D mailler than a crafting mailler. I'm finding more enjoyment in finding out new things about existing weaves and finding new ways of connecting these little rings than I am in trying to create something out of them.
Now, I do have two or three (or more) projects in various stages of completion, but I have little to no motivation to finish them, at the moment, and I'm not sure why. I'm sure it's something I'll get over, someday, so I'm not too worried about it. Mostly, I just realized it had been over a year since I posted a journal entry, and this was a subject that was on my mind at the moment

What is art?
I've been pondering this question quite a bit, recently.
At this point in time, I consider myself a mailler or chain artisan, or a budding/developing one at least. Most of what I've created up to this point, however, can probably be summed up as simply weave samples. Those keychains I have up, in particular, are nothing more than a small segment/patch of particular chain weave slapped on a stainless steel split ring. Art? I'm seriously beginning to feel that probably not.
The boot bands and stretch bracelets are maybe a bit closer, but again, they are just a small portion of a particular weave that has been looped around and connected to it
For those of you who may not know.
I have several time-consuming and money-consuming hobbies/interests and I am lousy at giving equal time to all of them, so I tend to go through phases. When one interest is high, the others are low. So, if I'm not here for a while (as I have been, lately), I'm not neccesarily gone forever.
If you were curious as to where I was, there ya go. If you weren't curious, well, there ya go, still. :)
Later.
Return of the...
...camera. We carpooled up to Kansas City. I evidently had left the camera in my friend's truck. So, I have a thing or two to take a picture of and post.
Later :)
I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached.
So, my digital camera went with me to Kansas City Renaissance Festival this weekend. Didn't use it, of course. Don't remember quite where I packed it to come back home with, either. And now I'm wanting to take pictures of a few things, and I can't. Bloody scatterbrained I am.
